A small corner for spinel

Spinelnook is a small shop for natural spinel and a short list of other fine coloured gemstones. We buy stones one at a time, for their colour first, and list each one with everything we know about it: weight, measurements, origin and treatment.

Spinel has spent most of its history being mistaken for ruby. We think it deserves its own name. It is hard, bright, comes in almost every colour, and is almost never treated. That makes it one of the most honest gemstones you can buy.

How we work

• Every stone is photographed in daylight, so the colour on screen is as close to life as we can make it.
• We’ll send a video of any stone before you buy. Just ask.
• We ship fully insured from Thailand, with tracking, to most countries.
• If a stone isn’t right, you can return it within 14 days of delivery.
